Chuck Tomasi

I learn, I share, I change lives

Podcasting

To say Chuck was “bitten” by the podcasting bug in 2004 would be an understatement. He started with one show (ChuckChat) that soon split in to two (Freestyle and Technorama). Chuck then found it was only an incremental effort to produce the short format Gmail Podcast. When a windfall of old time radio content came his way, Chuck created Radio Yesterday. In 2007, Technorama was a finalist in two categories for the prestiguous Parsec Award. Chuck has also spoken at the 2006 New Media Expo in Ontario California, attended by 3000 people. He has also appeared on other podcasts including:

  • Billibub Baddings and the Case of the Singing Sword (Dr. Samuel Hammil)
  • Friends In Tech productions
  • The Radio Adventures of Doctor Floyd
  • The Podcast about Nothing
  • Vobes
  • Variant Frequencies (Delve, and Firstborn, Best in Class)
  • Slice of SciFi
  • Dancing With Elephants
  • Cybrosis Novel (Tecgui)

Since May 2005, Technorama has done hundreds of shows, specials, and interviews with such notables as:

  • Adam Savage and Grant Imahara – Discovery Channel’s Mythbusters
  • John Chatterton and Richie Kohler – The History Channel’s Deep Sea Detectives
  • Dr. Robert Ballard – Discoverer of the RMS Titanic, and Bismark
  • Steve Wozniak – Apple Co-founder
  • Astronomer David Levy (co-discoverer of comet Schumaker-Levy 9)
  • Dean Haglund – Comedian, Inventor, Actor (X-Files)
  • Leo Laporte – Tech TV’s The Screen Savers – and TWiT
  • Kevin Rose – Digg.com and Diggnation
  • Patrick Norton – DL.TV

Author

I co-wrote the second edition of Podcasting for Dummies (2008) with Tee Morris. The book was ranked #1 by Neilsen BookScan in its category. I also co-wrote Sams Teach Yourself WordPress in 10 Minutes (2010) with friend and co-host, Kreg Steppe.

Both books have companion podcasts available on iTunes to supplement and update the printed material.

Karate

I started Karate in August 2006 just after my daughter Liisa started. November 7, 2009 I was awarded my first degree Black Belt from Chief Instructor Jeff Denu at Karate America, Appleton Wisconsin. In the fall of 2011 I earned my second degree black belt. Most recently, I received my third degree black belt from Mr. Denu July 19, 2014. I am currently taking a break and looking for a new school in the Phoenix area.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu

Beginning in January 2011, I have been awarded my blue belt in Gracie Jiu Jitsu in December 2012. I was honored to be the first to receive my blue belt after our school became a Gracie Certified Training Center. I am currently taking a break to pursue some other interests!
