IT Manager - Plexus Corp - 2005 to Present
Chuck has had the opportunity to make the leap from 18 years of successful Systems Administration work to being an IT Manager for the same team. He credits his success to David Allen’s “Getting Things Done Fast!” and Manager Tools podcast.  Successful projects include:
Repatriate Global IT Service Desk cutting costs by nearly 50% and improving customer satisfaction
Move of Livingston Scotland engineering office
Move of Raleigh North Carolina engineering office

Systems Administrator - Plexus Corp - 1989 to 2005
IT has been a major part of Chuck’s career. Over the course of 16 years, he has had the honor to work with some terrific people and flexibility to work on some great projects. Starting as the first Systems Administrator for Plexus’ engineering division, Chuck established many of the standards, architectures, and processes still used globally. His projects include
Designing, developing, and supporting a global help desk ticketing system.
Successful coordination of all IT aspects of a new engineering facility in Boulder Colorado.
Successful coordination of all IT aspects of a new manufacturing facility in Appleton Wisconsin.
Specified, procured, and implemented centralized file server system.
Standardized engineering support processes and tools in five global facilities.

C Programming Instructor - Fox Valley Tech - 1990 to 1992
In the early 90s, Chuck combined his love of programming with his passion for teaching. The local technical college asked him to be an adjunct instructor to share his knowledge of the C Programming language. While there, Chuck received excellent performance ratings from his students.

Software Engineer - Plexus Corp - 1988 to 1989
Straight out of college, Chuck was hired as a C Programmer to develop an application to manage privately owned pay telephones. The application was a great learning experience in:

Modem protocols
Database management
Reporting
User interfaces

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
VP Communications - Titletown HDI Chapter - 2008-Present
Responsibilities include regular communications to chapter members and potential members, coordinating with area publications to generate press, coordinate public relations.

Fox Cities Managers Meetings - 2008-Present
Chuck organized a group of local managers with the mission to create a professional network with the desire for self-improvement. The group meets monthly with specific topics that directly contribute to the mission.

PERSONAL
Podcaster - ChuckChat.com - 2004 to Present
To say Chuck was “bitten” by the podcasting bug in 2004 would be an understatement.  He started with one show (ChuckChat) that soon split in to two (Freestyle and Technorama). Chuck then found it was only an incremental effort to produce the short format Gmail Podcast. When a windfall of old time radio content came his way, Chuck created Radio Yesterday. In 2007, Technorama was a finalist in two categories for the prestiguous Parsec Award. Chuck has also spoken at the 2006 New Media Expo in Ontario California, attended by 3000 people. Chuck is the co-author of the second edition of Podcasting for Dummies (Wiley Publishing) with Tee Morris and Evo Terra. The book was released in July 2008.

Chuck is currently writing “Sams Teach Yourself WordPress in 10 Minutes” co-written with Kreg Steppe. Due on shelves Spring 2010.
